“End of Service” (EOS), sometimes called End of Support or End of Life, means Microsoft will stop issuing free security updates, feature updates, or technical support for Windows 10 after a specified date. The OS will still work, but without updates, it becomes increasingly vulnerable, unsupported, and risky.
October 14 2025: Official EOS for Windows 10. No more free updates or support.
October 13 2026: Extended Security Updates (ESU) end for consumers using the free option.
Up to October 2028: Paid ESUs available for education and business customers.
Windows 10 (IoT Enterprise LTSC 2021): Supported until January 2032, but limited to specialist cases.

On October 14 2025, Microsoft 365 apps like Word, Excel, and Outlook will stop being supported on windows 10. Office 2016 and 2019 will also reach end of support. If you're still using Windows 100 after this point, your Office apps may start to degrade or become unsupported. Upgrading to Windows 11 ensures full compatibility and security for all Microsoft apps.
