The team at VeryPC are proud to support HERB, a community volunteering group based in Broomhall, Sheffield, dedicated to making the city greener and more biodiverse.
HERB works closely with students from the University of Sheffield to transform urban spaces into thriving green environments. One of their standout initiatives is the creation of a green street corridor along Havelock Street.
The project aims to create a more welcoming environment, not just for people, but also for pollinators that play a vital role in our ecosystem.

As part of their latest efforts, HERB is currently building a green roof for bins, an innovative way to bring sustainability into even the most overlooked parts of everyday life. These small but impactful changes contribute to a broader vision of a cleaner, greener city.
We’re delighted to have recently donated pallets and wood materials to support this project, thanks to Stanislav and Adam from the VeryPC team.
These materials are now being used to construct the green roof structure, helping bring the idea to life. It’s inspiring to see how simple resources can be repurposed into something that benefits the entire community.

The project is expected to be completed in the next couple of weeks, and we’re excited to see the final results. We’ll be sharing more photos and updates soon, so stay tuned to see how this fantastic initiative turns out.
We’re honoured to play a small part in HERB’s work and look forward to continuing to support projects that make a positive environmental impact.
