In this success story, we demonstrate how VeryPC provided Twyford School with an energy-efficient solution to meet their sustainability goals.
Twyford School puts the happiness and fulfilment of every child at the centre of all they do.
They believe that the overtly positive and encouraging educational environment which exists at Twyford will enable pupils to flourish and thrive. The School is ambitious but supportive, challenging but nurturing, forward-thinking but proud of its 200-year history. They strive to equip their leavers with the skills and values that will enable them to be flexible thinkers, and competent collaborators, combined with a strong moral compass and sense of duty.
Twyford School approached VeryPC after receiving several positive recommendations on the ANME Forum.
The School wanted to upgrade its computers to a more energy-efficient solution in line with its sustainability goals. The new machines needed to be environmentally friendly while still meeting high-quality standards.
Additionally, the School required the machines to be capable of running Windows 11 smoothly, without having to worry about future processor requirements changes by Microsoft.
Having reliable support was crucial, as any downtime could impact teaching and learning. The School needed assurance that any issues would be resolved promptly and that the machines could be easily upgraded in the future.
VeryPC’s first step toward a greener product lifecycle is the Broadleaf Mini.
The Broadleaf Mini offers excellent desktop performance with significant energy savings. It was designed in partnership with Intel and JWIPC as a joint effort to reduce environmental impact through design, manufacturing, and use.
The modular design of the Broadleaf Mini makes it easy to assemble, service, replace parts, disassemble, and separate. It is made from 30% recycled plastics, contributing to a lower carbon footprint across its lifecycle.
“The VeryPC team are great to work with, both in sales and support, they understand the pinch points IT face in education. We moved our Summer PC upgrade programme from Dell/Lenovo to VeryPC in 2023 and have been impressed. Across 2024 we wanted to focus more on upgrading to more energy-efficient technology to support the School’s sustainability aims and for the IT department to do our bit to help the planet.”
