Kicking off another year together

21 Oct 2026 Events

Every October, at the start of our financial year, the whole VeryPC team gets together to take a proper look at where we’ve been and where we’re heading. This year, we were at the OEC in Sheffield.

Our company kickoff is a chance to look back on the last twelve months, celebrate the people behind them, and get to know each other a little better. It’s also where we come back to our core values and agree what the year ahead needs to look like.

Long service

Some of our team have been part of the VeryPC story for a long time, and this year Jed and Dan both passed 10 years with us.

Jed is our lead quality control and quality assurance technician. His job is making sure the machines we ship are tested, up to standard, and ready to be put through the wringer in a busy school or office.

Dan is part of our sales team. He’s often one of the first people you’ll speak to at VeryPC, getting to grips with what you need, talking through the options, and making getting set up with us as easy as possible.

Between them, they cover both ends of the journey: the first conversation, and the final check before a device leaves Sheffield.

Hitting the ground running

Holly and Gayle joined our sales team this year and got stuck in straight away. Holly focuses on framework strategy for education, helping schools and trusts buy through the routes that work for them. Gayle is an account manager, looking after new and existing customers and making sure they always have someone to call.

A chance to let off some steam

Kickoff isn’t all slides and spreadsheets. We get stuck into practical games and team challenges that take a bit of teamwork, a bit of strategy, and usually a fair amount of laughing.

The best part is who you end up next to. Teams mix people from across the business, so someone from the build team might be problem-solving with someone from sales or accounts.

It sounds simple, but it makes a real difference. When you know the person on the other end of an email or a phone call, everyday work gets a lot easier.

Focused on the year ahead

With the year reviewed and the celebrating done, we turn to what’s next. We realign our business goals, talk through what we’re aiming to achieve, and make sure everyone knows the part they play.

Our core values sit at the centre of that conversation. They shape how we work with each other and how we look after the schools and businesses we work with.

It all comes back to getting it right for our customers. That means kit built properly in Sheffield, honest advice, and a team that’s here when you need us.

A big thank you to everyone who helped put this year’s kickoff together, and to the whole team for another year of hard work.

We’re back at our desks with clear goals and plenty of energy. If you’ve got a project coming up, it’s a good time to talk.
