CASE STUDY: New Collaborative Learning Trust

New College Pontefract
14 May 2026

1. About The Trust

New Collaborative Learning Trust (NCLT) was created in 2015 by governors and senior leaders of New College Pontefract, an outstanding sixth-form college. Since then, the Trust has grown to include three sixth form colleges, three secondary schools and three primary schools. Their vision can only be achieved through collaboration. A shared belief is that raising outcomes, narrowing gaps and improving social mobility will be accomplished through proactive collaboration across all teams in the Trust, and between the Trust and its key stakeholders.

2. The Requirement

The trust aims to foster collaboration among its 7,500 students across 8 sites. It is essential for students to have access to a mobile device that facilitates seamless collaboration and enables them to achieve outstanding results. Therefore, it was crucial to identify a laptop model that could be standardised across all sites. The chosen device needed to be functional, with robust specifications to withstand daily use by students.
