VeryPC at Intel Partner Connect Europe

It’s been an in-house joke for a long time here at VeryPC that one day I may actually leave the VeryPC building. Well I did! It was a first for me in many ways, first time to Prague and to attend an Intel conference. I can say on both fronts, that the trip was well worth time away from the office (even if I did somewhat dread coming back to a mountain of to do’s and actionable emails). I guess it is the joy of being an in-demand product manager; it comes with the territory!
Anyway, back to the point…
Intel® Partner Connect, an invite only, Platinum Partner event hosted by Intel was held at the Prague Congress Centre in Prague, Czech Republic. Including VeryPC, there were around 3,000 Intel partners and dealers, all very much like me, intrigued and excited to hear about the latest technology updates.
VeryPC MD Andrew Hopton and I systematically manoeuvred round the event and had some very insightful and deep conversations about the future of technology, especially on the topic of OPS (for those who don’t already know, we make and supply an OPS system that can instantly convert your big screen into a giant all-in-one PC. So, it was fascinating to see CTOUCH showcase Unite and OPS Pro and, from what it looked like, their demonstration was well received. I know from our own experience that our customers love OPS; check out Andrew’s blog post to read more.
Congratulations to award winners ASBIS Enterprises PLC who received awards for, the highest year-on-year growth in server sales and the highest year-on-year growth in SSD sales in 2017 in the EMEA region.
We managed to see several technical sessions on Artificial Intelligence, 5G, Digital Transformation, Storage, Cloud, Gaming and The Internet of Things (IoT) - all that Intel is currently working on.
The IoT technical session talked about digital signage and interactive flat panels and how they are powered by IoT, which is of great interest since we provide customers with AV solutions . I was also fascinated by how some companies can potentially use robotics to automate routine tasks and it left me feeling most inspired about the potential product opportunities.
