All good things must come to an end, and this includes Windows 7. On January 14th 2020, Windows 7 will reach ‘End of Support’.
What does this mean? In simple terms, it means that Microsoft will no longer be providing security updates or support PC's running Windows 7.
Fear not, though. You won’t wake up on January 14th 2020 and find that your PC has suddenly stopped working. You’ll still be able to use your PC as normal but you will be at risk of threats including security risks and viruses.
Even though Windows 7 is now ten years old, according to NetMarketShare’s 2018 data, 40.86% of PC owners are still using Windows 7 compared to 36.37% who use the latest operating system, Windows 10.
Upgrading to Windows 10 is pretty simple and most programs that you use on a daily basis will have already been updated to work with Windows 10 so the transition should be pretty pain-free.
