On Sunday 13 September, our MD Andy Hopton completed the AJ Bell Great North Run as part of #TeamBowelCancerUK, taking on the 13.1 miles from Newcastle to South Shields.
He wasn’t alone either. In a happy surprise, Ross ran it too, something the rest of us only found out about when he appeared at the start line. Turns out he’d been quietly training all along.
Both finished in under 1 hour 40, and between them they’ve raised over £3,000 for charity.
Andy ran in memory of Kelly Egan, the much loved sister of his close friend and co-director Ed Egan, who passed away in November 2025 just weeks after being diagnosed with bowel cancer. That money funds lifesaving research and support services for families affected by the disease, and we’re incredibly proud of them both.
Thank you
Fundraising like this doesn’t happen alone. We’d like to thank the partners who donated so generously: M2M Direct, JWIPC, Avance Technologies Limited, FSP (GB) LTD, Inforlandia, S.A. and DSA Digital Signage Solutions.
Thank you as well to every VeryPC colleague who donated. Your support meant a lot to Andy and Ed, and it made a real difference to the final total.
The fundraising page is still open if you’d like to donate: https://ajbellgreatnorthrun2026.enthuse.com/pf/andrew-hopton
